About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Services Ambassador (Dietary Aide) to support customer and patient satisfaction by helping ensure patient meal selections meet their preferences and dietary restrictions. The position is at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and is listed as 24 flex 32 hours, with a day shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and weekend and holiday rotation. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $16.81 to $23.81 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, plus additional courses or training, or equivalent knowledge or experience, preferred.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for exemption for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying the choice to be exempt once hired.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of duties to ensure customer and patient satisfaction.
Ensure patient meal selections are as close to mealtime as possible, as directed.
Adjust meal selections to diet restrictions with the patient.
Update and correct patient-selected menus only with the patient’s knowledge.
Use the menu correction guide and consult the assigned dietitian as a resource to avoid serious errors in menu correction.
Describe the ingredients and features of all menu items.
Enter patient food preferences into the Patient Services Software Platform.
Perform duties using the EPIC Platform as needed or directed.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
