About The Position

As a Patient Services Representative with Corewell Health, you will work as part of a team to provide patient registration, concierge, and clerical services. You will greet and communicate with patients and visitors, assist with appointments and patient check-in and check-out, maintain medical records, and support safe operations. This role is based at Health Park Medical Office Building 1 in St. Joseph, in the Cardiology St Joseph HOPD - Niles and St Joseph Prof Svcs department. It is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled for 40 hours per week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational/technical one-year certificate from a college or technical school, depending on the Corewell Health entity and department.
• One year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or other related experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and communicate with patients or visitors as a concierge.
• Perform clerical functions, including answering practice phone calls, scheduling patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable, ordering supplies, generating patient letters, processing and sorting mail and supply deliveries, and processing registration reports.
• Identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Document patient phone calls in the EHR for call routing or resolution.
• Perform patient registration and check-in by confirming demographic and insurance information and assisting with self-registration and arrival.
• Perform patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments or confirming future appointments.
• Maintain patient medical records according to standards and upload Right Fax documents into EPIC.
• Perform basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigating measures where appropriate, and complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
