About The Position

This is a non-exempt medical office position responsible for front-office processes in a physician practice at Abrazo Arrowhead Cardio in Glendale, Arizona. The Patient Service Representative supports patient care by welcoming patients, managing communications and appointments, handling registration and insurance verification, and assisting with check-out, referrals, payments, and patient portal enrollment.

The role supports the mission, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources, including its HIPAA Compliance Plan and Corporate Compliance Program. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service experience; experience in a hospital or physician office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources, including the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and Corporate Compliance Program.
• Greet patients entering the practice.
• Manage office communications, including answering phones and making, confirming, and rescheduling patient appointments.
• Check in patients, collect accurate demographic information, verify insurance, and enter data into the electronic system.
• Check out patients and assist with referral processing and scheduling.
• Collect co-payments and post charges.
• Process charge entry and patient balances.
• Provide patients with information about office policies, procedures, and practice information.
• Explain the patient portal and assist patients with enrollment.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
