About The Position
This role is for a Patient Service Representative at a clinic within Saint Thomas Medical Partners in Mount Juliet, TN, specializing in Primary Care. The position is full-time, with day shifts. The representative will be responsible for championing the patient experience by providing a warm, professional welcome, guiding patients through check-in/out, and ensuring accurate records. They will also manage schedules, confirm appointments, handle medical record requests, assist with insurance authorizations and precertifications, and address co-payments and billing questions. Additionally, the role involves submitting daily service charges, reconciling deposits, and providing clerical support to maintain an organized and welcoming environment.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Medical office experience
- Billing and insurance experience
Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional welcome for every visitor, guiding them through the check-in/out process and ensuring their records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Proactively manage schedules, confirm appointments, and handle medical record requests.
- Assist patients by verifying insurance authorizations and precertifications ahead of time, then help them navigate co-payments and billing questions with transparency and empathy.
- Submit daily service charges, reconcile deposits, and provide essential clerical support.
