About The Position

The Patient Resource Coordinator is a clinical and operational nursing leader responsible for coordinating patient flow, supporting daily operations, optimizing staffing, and ensuring safe, efficient, patient-centered care. This role partners with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve throughput, enhance quality outcomes, and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum three years of acute care hospital experience.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • BLS and ACLS required; additional specialty certifications may be required.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements.

  • Charge nurse or other progressive leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and discharges to maximize patient flow.
  • Support daily nursing operations and collaborate with department leadership.
  • Monitor staffing levels based on patient acuity, census, and organizational staffing guidelines.
  • Conduct routine patient safety and quality rounds.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide direct patient care when needed.
  • Promote compliance with evidence-based practice, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case management, bed management, and ancillary departments.
  • Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, orientation, and competency validation.
  • Provide real-time feedback and encourage professional development.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Monitor quality indicators and patient satisfaction metrics.
  • Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Support safety initiatives, risk management, and regulatory readiness.
  • Assist leadership with labor management, productivity, inventory, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Support departmental budgeting goals through efficient resource utilization.
