About The Position
Sun River Health is seeking a Full Time Patient Representative/Front Desk Receptionist to join their team at The HUB in Bronx, NY. This role is responsible for providing patient-centered care, facilitating patient access to services, and managing the registration and appointment process. The Patient Representative will communicate effectively with a diverse population, handle telephone and mail correspondence, schedule appointments, collect fees, explain services and charges, and verify insurance information. This position is integral to the medical care team as the initial point of contact for patients.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED
- 2-4 years of work-related experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily reception activities and ensure that all processes needed for patient services are initiated.
- Communicates effectively with team members and patients all aspects of service.
- Responsible for telephone and mail contact with patients.
- Responsible for the scheduling of appointments, fee collection, explanation of services and charges for patient services.
- Distributes materials to patients, including the patient satisfaction cards, patient rights and other appropriate materials.
- Verifies all insurance and sets fees based on the sliding scale fee.
