Patient Registration Specialist - Toledo Hospital
About The Position
The Patient Registration Specialist is often the first person patients meet when pre-registering or arriving for medical services at a ProMedica clinic, lab, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency department. The role performs tasks such as validating insurance, posting payments, securing registration and billing information, and answering questions from patients, visitors, or other staff. The specialist follows HIPAA guidelines and privacy practices, protects patient confidentiality and patient rights, and participates as an active team member. The role prioritizes daily responsibilities, assists with training new staff as needed, and reviews work to ensure it complies with system quality assurance policies. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology.
- At least 1 year of experience in medical registration, medical assisting, revenue cycle/billing, or a similar position in a medical office setting.
Responsibilities
