About The Position

The Patient Registration Specialist is often the first person patients meet when they pre-register or arrive for medical services in a ProMedica clinic, lab, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency department. The role includes validating insurance, posting payments, securing registration and billing information, and answering questions from patients, visitors, and other staff. The specialist complies with HIPAA guidelines and privacy practices, patient confidentiality requirements, and patient rights. As an active team member, the specialist prioritizes responsibilities to complete daily work, assists in training new staff as needed, and reviews work to ensure compliance with system quality assurance policies. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology.
At least 1 year of experience in medical registration, medical assisting, revenue cycle/billing, or a similar position within a medical office setting.
