Patient Registration Specialist - Hickman Hospital
About The Position
The Patient Registration Specialist is often the first person patients meet when pre-registering or arriving for medical services at a ProMedica clinic, lab, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency department. The role includes validating insurance, posting payments, obtaining registration and billing information, and answering questions from patients, visitors, and staff. The specialist follows HIPAA guidelines and privacy practices, protects patient confidentiality and rights, contributes to the team, prioritizes daily work, and assists with training new staff as needed. The role also includes reviewing work for compliance with system quality assurance policies. This description represents the general nature and level of work and is not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology.
- At least one year of experience in medical registration, medical assisting, revenue cycle/billing, or a similar position in a medical office setting.
