About The Position

Fairview has an immediate opening for a Patient Registration Representative on its Primary Care team in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This benefits-eligible position is 1.0 FTE, or 80 hours per two-week pay period. The clinic operates Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the representative helps create a welcoming experience and supports accurate, efficient registration, scheduling, and financial processes. The role includes greeting patients, verifying and registering them, scheduling appointments, confirming insurance and demographic information, maintaining patient accounts, and arranging payment for self-pay balances before or during appointments.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education.

Responsibilities

Register patients and verify insurance and demographic information according to established guidelines.
Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, effective dates and coverage, correct insurance, and billing address.
Inform patients about insurance copays or self-pay policies and document this information in patient accounts for front desk staff.
Monitor patient account balances and inform patients of outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
Research and address patient questions and concerns according to established guidelines and procedures.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Participate in creating and implementing improvements.
Occasionally answer incoming calls from patients or internal team members to assist with patient care.
Schedule appointments with specified clinicians according to scheduling guidelines, patient needs, and clinician availability.
