About The Position

As part of Henry Ford Health’s administrative team, the Patient Registration Representative supports the smooth operation of the health system and helps patients receive exceptional care across its network. The role is the first point of contact for patients and is responsible for creating a welcoming, efficient experience through patient registration, insurance verification, and payment collection. The representative advocates for patient needs and supports clinical and non-clinical teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance verification in a healthcare setting.
• EPIC training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments accurately.
• Update patient registration and insurance information in the organization’s systems.
• Respond professionally to inquiries from callers and customers.
• Advocate for patients to ensure their needs are met promptly.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
