About The Position

The Patient Registration Rep is the welcoming face and voice of Henry Ford Health, helping ensure a smooth and compassionate patient experience. The role supports clinical and non-clinical teams by managing patient registration, insurance verification, and cash collections. It contributes to a positive first impression, streamlined operations, and advocacy for patient needs.

This position is based in Wyandotte and is part time, 20 hours per week, with a shift listed as 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed customer service standards over the phone, in person, and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance eligibility in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training or experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients face-to-face, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments accurately and efficiently.
• Update patient registration and insurance information in systems.
• Respond to inquiries from callers and customers and advocate on their behalf.
• Perform new patient registration and preregistration tasks.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
