About The Position

The Patient Registration Rep is the welcoming face and voice for patients, supporting a smooth and compassionate registration process. The role supports patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff through registration, insurance verification, and cash collections. It helps create a positive first impression and ensures patients feel supported from the moment they connect with Henry Ford Health. This full-time position is located in West Bloomfield and works an afternoon shift from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service over the phone, in person, and in writing.
• Willingness and ability to instruct others.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance eligibility in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training or experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients face-to-face while providing a welcoming experience.
• Verify insurance eligibility and accurately handle cash collections.
• Update patient registration and insurance information in the organization's systems.
• Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf.
• Complete new patient registration and preregistration tasks efficiently.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
