About The Position

As a Patient Registration Rep, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient registration process. You will support patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff by managing registration activities, verifying insurance eligibility, and providing exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring smooth operations within Henry Ford Health. The position is based in Jackson, Michigan, and is part time at 24 hours per week on the midnight shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience related to patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training or experience.
• Familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
• Perform new patient registration and update existing patient and insurance information.
• Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf to meet their needs.
• Welcome patients and visitors, anticipate their needs, and help instill loyalty.
• Provide efficient and effective customer relationship management over the telephone, in person, and in writing.
• Instruct others on registration processes and procedures as needed.
