About The Position

The Patient Reception Specialist provides patient support and communication to facilitate an exceptional patient experience, reinforce satisfaction and trust, and build organizational loyalty. The role welcomes and prepares patients for appointments, informs them of relevant visit requirements, and clearly explains the services they are scheduled to receive. The home location is 2103 FM 2920 Road, Spring, TX 77388.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency required.
Adept in medical terminology and insurance practices.
Proficient in computer programs and applications, including Outlook applications and practice EMR systems.
Competent in basic arithmetic, including making calculations, balancing and reconciling figures, and making changes accurately.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.

Nice To Haves

Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or an emergency room.

Responsibilities

Obtain copies of insurance cards, driver’s licenses, authorizations, referrals, and other required appointment documentation, and save them appropriately in the practice EMR.
Perform demographic and insurance validation and inform patients of privacy policies and procedures.
Keep reception and patient waiting areas clean and organized.
Greet patients and visitors professionally and warmly.
Communicate unexpected schedule delays effectively and help maintain patient comfort when delays arise.
Collect patient co-payments, reconciliation charges, and outstanding balances at check-in, and submit batches daily.
Schedule patient appointments and follow-up appointments according to established policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
