About The Position
As a Patient Escort at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center (CHMC), you help ensure the safe, comfortable, and efficient transport of patients throughout the hospital. You support patients during their hospital journey and contribute to a positive, professional atmosphere while upholding CHMC’s mission and vision. The position is based at the Rochester campus and follows an 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of the Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support class at the time of hire or transfer.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere, interacting effectively with patients who may be under physical or emotional stress.
- Safely transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or ambulatory means to and from hospital areas for testing, treatment, and transfers.
- Promote patient safety by using proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
- Clean and maintain transportation equipment daily to help prevent injuries.
- Deliver specimens, blood products, patient charts, and other materials to hospital departments.
- Promote guest relations by anticipating and responding to needs with courtesy, respect, and confidentiality.
