About The Position

The Patient Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients and helps set the tone for their visit through excellent patient care. The role also handles administrative responsibilities to ensure a smooth patient check-in and check-out experience. This is a full-time position based in Norfolk, Virginia, with occasional travel to satellite offices in Virginia Beach, Suffolk, and Hampton; mileage is paid. Pay is $18–$19, depending on experience.

One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service during every in-person and phone encounter; greet patients promptly and professionally, and thank them when they leave.
Answer external and internal phone calls promptly and courteously.
Act with urgency regarding patients’ time and the doctor’s time and schedule.
Manage patient flow in the office.
Know common fees for common visits and collect the correct payments.
Complete daily reconciliations, close the day, and count down the cash drawer.
Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.
