Patient Care Technician (CNA), Night Shift, Med Surg Urology
About The Position
White Oak Medical Center is hiring an experienced Patient Care Technician for its Med Surg Urology team. The role supports patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and contributes to Adventist HealthCare’s mission of providing physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Duties may vary according to assignment and require consideration of the needs and behaviors of specific patient populations. The position is full-time, scheduled for 36 hours per week across three shifts, typically 7 p.m.–7 a.m. Weekend work is required on a rotating basis, and holidays follow the company holiday calendar. The position is eligible for a shift differential. The stated pay range is $19.21–$24.90. The role is classified as non-exempt. Applicants must meet the stated education, CNA qualification and licensure, BLS certification, English-language, physical ability, and computer skills requirements. Acute-care clinical experience is preferred.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Successful completion of a CNA program or first year of a nursing school program, and successful completion of the CNA exam.
- Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Effective command of spoken and written English.
- Physical ability to meet job requirements, including lifting, bending, and turning.
- Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities
- Perform service duties and routine technical tasks, including taking vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living, under Registered Nurse supervision.
- Adapt duties to the assigned area and consider the special needs and behaviors of the relevant patient population.
- Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives.
- Pursue personal and professional development to adapt effectively to ongoing change.
- Present a positive, professional image representing nursing and the organization.
- Follow the care plan established and delegated by the Registered Nurse.
- Receive report from the Registered Nurse.
- Help ensure a culture of safety.
- Identify and report malfunctioning or expired equipment and supplies.
- Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately.
