About The Position

The Patient Care Technician is a paraprofessional caregiver who works under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. The technician assumes responsibility and accountability for activities of daily living, certain tests and procedures, environmental duties, and other assigned tasks. The position also organizes and manages activity at the nursing desk to support the nursing process and provision of patient care, ensuring accurate and timely order entry and appropriate notification and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with activities of daily living under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Perform certain tests and procedures, environmental duties, and other tasks as assigned.
• Organize and manage activity at the nursing desk to support the nursing process and patient care.
• Ensure accurate and timely order entry.
• Notify and coordinate the multidisciplinary team appropriately.
