About The Position

Newberry Health is seeking a full-time Patient Access Representative for an outpatient clinic. The representative schedules appointments and collects and verifies demographic and financial data, ensuring accurate database records. The role verifies insurance coverage and benefits through online eligibility tools or telephone inquiries; obtains signatures and information for required forms and documents while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines; receives payments and issues receipts; works toward collection goals and maintains cash funds and verification logs; and prepares and distributes reports, documents, and patient identification items, supporting timely and accurate communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in admissions, billing, collections, insurance, and/or customer service is strongly preferred.
