About The Position
The Patient Care Technician supports patient health outcomes by providing basic nursing care, transporting patients, and performing clerical functions throughout the hospital. The role includes developing age-appropriate nursing care expertise, using clerical and communication skills, and collaborating with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses to support patient care and services. The position is within MultiCare’s physician-led Pulse Heart Institute, which provides cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, vascular, advanced heart failure, and imaging services.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
- Be eligible for Medical Assistant-Registered certification and apply within seven days of hire.
- Obtain Medical Assistant-Registered certification within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant certification or licensure.
- MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
- Current BLS certification.
- Recent bedside care experience in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
- Assist with basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions.
- Provide care to patients across diverse ethnic and social groups using strong interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with healthcare practitioners or registered nurses to provide comprehensive quality care.
