About The Position
The Patient Care Technician supports patient health outcomes by providing basic nursing care, transporting patients, and performing clerical functions. The role develops age-appropriate nursing care expertise and clerical and communication skills while collaborating with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses to support quality patient care and services. The position is within Pulse Heart Institute, a physician-led institute with cardiovascular, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular service lines.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible; must apply within seven days of hire.
- Obtain Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant Certification or licensure.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Recent bedside care experience in a healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
Responsibilities
- Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
- Assist with basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions.
- Provide care to patients across diverse ethnic and social groups using strong interpersonal skills.
