About The Position
Pulse Heart Institute is a physician-led institute within MultiCare, with multispecialty partnerships across cardiothoracic surgery, vascular, and cardiovascular services. Its programs provide cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care, including complex structural heart disease and interventions, advanced heart failure services, and advanced imaging. The Patient Care Technician supports patient outcomes by assisting with nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions. The role involves providing age-appropriate care, communicating with patients, and collaborating with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses to support comprehensive care. The position is listed at 0.9 FTE, with a night shift and a varying schedule.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
- Eligible for Medical Assistant-Registered certification; must apply within seven days of hire.
- Obtain Medical Assistant-Registered certification within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant certification or licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- Recent bedside care experience in a healthcare environment.
- An MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
Responsibilities
- Perform a range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
- Assist with basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions.
- Provide care to patients across diverse ethnic and social groups.
- Collaborate with healthcare practitioners or registered nurses to provide comprehensive, quality care.
