About The Position
The Patient Care Technician works in the Pulmonary Medicine Unit at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and according to established procedures, the technician performs patient care tasks and procedures necessary to provide for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week night-shift position, with rotating holidays and weekends.
Requirements
- Current CPR certification issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course, or at least six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent, or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
- Complete the Care Companion Course within six months of hire if required by the department.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, ability to prioritize, and ability to receive and follow through on directions.
