About The Position

The Patient Care Technician works in the Short Stay/Observation Unit at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and according to established procedures, the technician performs patient care tasks and procedures necessary to provide for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. This is a full-time position with a 36-hour work week on the night shift, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with rotating holidays and weekends.

Requirements

Current CPR certification issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course, or at least six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent, or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
Successful completion of the Care Companion Course within six months of hire when required by the department.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, ability to prioritize, and ability to receive and follow through on directions.
