About The Position

The Patient Care Technician works in the Short Stay/Observation Unit at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, the technician performs patient care tasks and procedures necessary to provide for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. This is a full-time position with a 36-hour work week, scheduled for day shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with rotating holidays and weekends.

Requirements

• Current CPR certification issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course, or at least six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent, or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
• Successful completion of the Care Companion Course within six months of hire when required by the department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, ability to prioritize, and ability to receive and follow through on directions.
