About The Position

Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Technician performs specific duties supporting patient care, including direct and indirect care activities essential to maintaining a safe and efficient care environment. The position performs selected interventions and activities that contribute to comprehensive patient care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Working with the care team, the Patient Care Technician also helps ensure a positive patient experience. The role operates in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held. No experience is required; on-site training is provided.

Requirements

Successful completion of Patient Care Technician-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed Certified BLS Provider credential within 60 days of hire or job transfer.
No prior experience is required; training is provided on-site.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed Certified BLS Provider credential.
Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA for eligibility to advance in the Patient Care Technician clinical ladder.
