About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Patient Care Technicians play a central role in delivering compassionate care to patients during vulnerable and difficult moments. This position is in Mesa, Arizona, at Select Specialty Hospital - Phoenix, which is moving to the third floor of Banner Baywood Medical Center. The schedule is per diem/PRN, with 12-hour day or night shifts from 6:00 to 6:30. Compensation is $25.00 per hour plus shift differentials. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the opportunity to demonstrate skills and dedication that may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem positions are eligible for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within the first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting or being an actively enrolled RN student.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including basin-less bathing, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
