About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Patient Care Technicians play a central role in delivering compassionate care to patients during vulnerable and difficult moments. This is a per diem position on a 12-hour day shift, from 6:30 to 6:30, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting or active enrollment as an RN student.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients into and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
