About The Position

The Patient Care Tech assists professional nursing staff in providing basic care to adult patients, including taking vital signs, providing hygiene assistance, and monitoring patients. The role measures and records patient intake, output, and oral, auxiliary, and rectal temperatures, and promptly advises a supervisor of abnormalities. It documents care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.

The position also performs unit secretary duties as needed, provides clinical and reception support, and manages unit supply procurement, receipt, and storage as directed by the Charge Nurse and/or Director. It enters orders and tests accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current AHA CPR card.

Nice To Haves

• Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of one clinical class.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience.
• Completed CNA course.

Responsibilities
