About The Position
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to meet patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs. The role serves as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs and is cross-trained to work as a Unit Associate. The PCT also helps maintain a safe and clean unit environment and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. This is a full-time, day-shift position. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $6,000, paid over 24 months.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer into the role.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification from an approved program.
- Florida-issued CNA license.
- Completion of the first semester of a Registered Nurse program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with patient care functions.
- Assist with indirect patient care functions and transport.
- Communicate and document activities.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care to address their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Serve as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs.
- Cross-train to the Unit Associate role.
- Help maintain a safe and clean unit environment.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
