Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Telemetry
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech assists professional nursing staff in providing basic care to adult patients, including vital signs, hygiene, and monitoring. The role measures and records patient intake, output, and temperatures (oral, auxiliary, and rectal), and promptly advises a supervisor of abnormalities. It documents care accurately and on time in the electronic health record. The position also performs unit secretary duties as needed, provides clinical and reception support, manages unit supply procurement, receipt, and storage as directed by the Charge Nurse and/or Director, and accurately and promptly enters orders and tests in the electronic health record.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Current AHA CPR card required.
Nice To Haves
- Completed CNA course preferred.
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.
- Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of one clinical class preferred.
