About The Position
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) assists professional nursing staff in providing basic care to adult patients, including taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and monitoring patients. The position measures and records patient intake, output, and temperatures (oral, auxiliary, and rectal), and promptly advises a supervisor of abnormalities. Care must be documented accurately and promptly in the electronic health record. The PCT also performs unit secretary duties as needed, provides clinical and reception support, and manages supply procurement, receipt, and storage for the unit as directed by the Charge Nurse and/or Director. The role enters orders and tests accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Current AHA CPR card required.
Nice To Haves
- Completed CNA course preferred.
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.
- Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of one clinical class preferred.
