About The Position
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) provides essential assistance and comfort to patients and supports nursing service personnel with patient care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and changing bed linens. The role may also involve serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The position uses commonly applied concepts, practices, and procedures in its field and works from instructions and established guidelines under immediate supervision. It typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR certification.
- CNA license, Home Health, Nursing Assistant, ENT, or Nursing Student who has completed the first round of clinicals.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing service personnel with patient care activities and services that address patients’ personal needs and comfort.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene.
- Take patients’ vital signs.
- Change bed linens.
- Serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment, as needed.
- Clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
