About The Position

Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes patient hygiene, mobility assistance, vital signs, and blood glucose monitoring, along with housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, clean environment. The position is full-time for 72 hours and is scheduled for day shifts in Maryville, Illinois.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

Current Nurse Assistant certification by the State of Illinois, documentation of previous Nurse Assistant certification within the past five years, and/or documentation of on-the-job training in a patient care setting equivalent to nurse assistant training.
Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, and/or medical-surgical care.

Responsibilities

Admits, discharges, and transfers patients and completes appropriate forms.
Provides for patient hygiene.
Provides for patients’ food and fluid needs.
Assists with patient mobility.
Obtains and records vital signs.
Maintains a safe environment of care.
Provides appropriate pressure ulcer prevention.
Performs finger-stick blood glucose monitoring under the direction of the RN.
Completes documentation accurately and promptly according to hospital policies and procedures.
Provides safe, skillful, accurate, efficient, age-appropriate, and population-specific care primarily to adult and geriatric patients.
Supports patients’ rights and responsibilities, including respect for cultural, ethical, and religious diversity.
Adheres to standard precautions and infection control standards.
Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, clean environment.
