About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) in Obstetrics provides individualized, culture-specific patient care by attending to patients’ personal needs and comfort under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT assists professional or licensed nurses, as delegated, with tasks requiring less technical skills; participates in shift and bedside reports; and supports regional, facility, department, and unit initiatives. The role works under immediate supervision, relies on instructions and established guidelines, and typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or a valid CNA or PCA/PCT certificate.
• CPR certification.
• EKG training in selected units.
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
• Knowledge of patient rights, aseptic/sterile technique, and infection control best practices.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting.
• CNA/LNA certification from the Arizona State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities
