About The Position

The Patient Care Tech assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to meet patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs. The role also serves as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs, is cross-trained to Unit Associate, and helps maintain a safe and clean unit environment. Other duties may be assigned.

This is a per-diem position on the night shift in the ER. The posting describes a patient-care support role focused on providing essential assistance and comfort to patients and supporting a positive healthcare experience.

Requirements

• Coursework as a Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic.
• Nursing Assistant certification, or EMT or Paramedic certification.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• CPI certification due within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Assist with patient care functions.
• Assist with indirect patient care functions and transport.
• Communicate and document activities.
• Provide leadership, including serving as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs.
• Help maintain a safe and clean unit environment.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
