Patient Care Tech 1 IRP PRN
About The Position
As a PRN Patient Care Technician in the Internal Resource Pool, you will support teams in delivering quality care across diverse clinical areas, including Labor & Delivery, Emergency, Med Surg, and Telemetry. You will work under the supervision of licensed clinical staff to help maintain patient comfort and safety and support efficient unit operations. The role offers flexible self-scheduling, with opportunities to pick up shifts totaling between 200 and 900 hours per year, measured over the 12 months from hire. It also provides the opportunity to build hands-on experience and strengthen your clinical foundation while supporting a healthcare system serving more than 2 million people across the Central Valley.
Requirements
- One year of CNA experience in an acute care hospital.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One of the following: active or inactive California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification; active or inactive National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), or Paramedic certification; or enrollment in or completion of an accredited clinical RN or LVN program.
Responsibilities
- Assist with direct patient care, including taking vital signs and helping with hygiene, mobility, feeding, intake and output, and other daily activities.
- Support nurses and providers with patient monitoring, documentation, and care coordination.
- Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of patient rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Provide clerical and administrative support and facilitate communication within the care team.
