About The Position

The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is accountable for coordinating patient care across the continuum of services. The PCS supervises nursing staff and daily clinical and administrative functions, including patient admissions and staffing management. The role provides 24/7 medical center leadership and supervision in the absence of departmental and administrative leadership. The PCS promotes professional and collaborative relationships among nursing personnel, medical staff, administrative staff, patients, and families.

Requirements

• Graduate of an associate's or baccalaureate nursing program.
• Associate's degree graduates must provide documented evidence of completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.
• Three years of clinical experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
• Highly professional, with excellent leadership, organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills.
• Current, active Minnesota RN license upon hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) within six months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of acute care RN experience.
• Advanced clinical nursing skills.
• Leadership, supervision, or charge RN experience.
• Staffing management experience.
• Census or bed management experience.
• Labor or bargaining-unit experience.
