About The Position

The Patient Care Representative coordinates and processes information and documentation needed to obtain durable medical equipment (DME) for patients. The role supports up to two Sales Representatives and serves as a liaison among the company, patients, referral sources, and insurance companies. It introduces patients to the company and the equipment-acquisition process, helps explain equipment, insurance coverage, and potential payment options before delivery, and keeps Sales Representatives informed about order status and other necessary information. The position reports to the Sales Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and organization.
• At least two years of administrative support experience.

Responsibilities

• Support up to two Sales Representatives at a time.
• Act as a liaison between the company, patients, referral sources, and insurance companies.
• Introduce patients to the company and explain the process for obtaining equipment.
• Collect needed insurance information from patients.
• Coordinate face-to-face evaluations with patients’ physicians when required.
• Prepare and send required documentation to physicians and obtain proper documentation from prescribing physicians for submission for approval.
• Keep Sales Representatives updated on patient order status and other necessary information.
• Explain equipment, insurance coverage, and possible payment options to patients before delivery.
