About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking Patient Care Assistants to provide compassionate care to senior adults and others in need in Eatonton and the surrounding communities. The role supports clients at home and in the community through personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility assistance, and transportation. Caregivers may also have the opportunity to pursue advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
