About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking compassionate Patient Care Aides to support seniors and others in need in Greensboro and surrounding communities. The role provides companionship and assistance with everyday activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, transportation, and light housekeeping. The position also offers opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate manner.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including to appointments and on walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
