About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Kansas City office is seeking compassionate Patient Care Assistants to support senior adults and others in need across the Kansas City Metro area, including locations in Kansas and Missouri. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily living, ranging from light housekeeping and meal preparation to mobility support and transportation. Caregivers may also have opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver mindset.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
