About The Position

Visiting Angels Columbus is seeking compassionate Patient Care Assistants to support seniors and others in need in Columbus and surrounding communities. The role provides in-home companionship and assistance with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. Caregivers may have opportunities for advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care to continue developing their skills.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including attending appointments and going for walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
