About The Position

Visiting Angels Lawton is seeking compassionate Patient Care Assistants to support senior adults and others in need in Lawton and surrounding communities, including Duncan, Altus, and Chickasha. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily activities, from light housekeeping and meal preparation to mobility support and transportation. Caregivers may also pursue advanced training in areas such as dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Complete COVID vaccination is preferred.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside the home, including attending appointments and going for walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
