About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Webster Groves office is seeking Patient Care Assistants to provide compassionate in-home support to senior adults and others in need throughout the St. Louis area. The role involves companionship and practical assistance, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility assistance, and transportation. Caregivers may also pursue advanced training in areas such as dementia care or Alzheimer’s care to develop their skills.

Requirements

• A passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including attending appointments and taking walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Respond quickly and responsibly to emergencies.
