About The Position

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking Patient Care Aides to provide compassionate in-home support to senior adults and others in need throughout the Macoupin County area and nearby counties. The role supports clients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. Caregivers are introduced to clients before assignments and are not sent into situations alone. The position offers varied shifts from 1 to 12 hours, flexible scheduling, and full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities. Advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care is available.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and caregiving.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking, including attention to dietary constraints.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility in and around the home, including accompanying them to appointments or walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals, involving clients when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Support clients with daily living responsibilities, including transportation.
