About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and care to individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. residential facilities. Individuals may need physical or medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support, and assistance with independent living. Care is provided according to each person’s specific needs and includes assistance and education with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills. DSPs also transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments. Full-time and part-time residential DSP positions start at $17.60 per hour. Backup and PRN positions pay $17.00 per hour. Full-time employees are scheduled for 30 or more hours per week. Available positions include every-other-weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. or 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., as well as backup/PRN fill-in positions across all three shifts. Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited school.
Complete a criminal record check.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Complete required coursework for CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
Basic computer skills for email, electronic training modules, and recording data.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to balance, bend, stoop, and kneel occasionally.
Ability to remain on one’s feet most of the time.
Work during inclement weather and some holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide support and care to individuals in residential facilities according to their specific needs.
Assist and educate individuals with personal care, medication administration, and independent living skills.
Transport or accompany individuals to community activities and local or out-of-town appointments.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedules.
