About The Position

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking compassionate CNA Nurse Aides to provide in-home support to senior adults and others in need in the Macoupin County area, including Sangamon, Menard, Morgan, and Logan counties. The work includes supporting clients with daily living responsibilities and companionship. The role offers varied shifts ranging from 1 to 12 hours, with full-time, part-time, PRN, weekday, night, and weekend options. Caregivers make their own schedules and receive mileage reimbursement for travel. The employer offers paid orientation, paid time off, a caregiver assistance program for employees maintaining 35–40 hours per week, a mentor program with ongoing training, and opportunities for advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care. A $400 sign-on bonus is available to eligible employees who meet all bonus qualifications.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
• Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
