About The Position

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking compassionate CNA Nurse Aides to support seniors and others in need throughout Central Illinois. Caregivers help clients with daily living responsibilities, provide companionship, and assist families. The role offers varied shift lengths and scheduling options, as well as opportunities for ongoing and advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Caregivers are introduced to clients before assignments and are not sent into unfamiliar situations alone.

Requirements

A passion for serving others and caregiving.
Knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Own a vehicle with current insurance.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including walks and doctor’s appointments.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
